Parallel and Distributed Computing, 6 hp

General Information

Advanced course in computer science on the theory, algorithms, and techniques of parallel and distributed computing systems. We study abstract principles and limitations of parallel and distributed computing and how these principles affect concrete algorithm and processor design, but also conversely, how specific machine features affect performance and the choice of synchronization primitives.
