Nordic/Swedish/KTH Championships in Programming 2022

NCPC 2022 will be on Saturday, October 8th, and takes place simultaneously at a number of nordic universities, including KTH. Registration closes on the 5th.

The contest is open for everyone! It is suitable both for those who wish to try a programming contest for the first time and for those who have competed before and wish to compete internationally. Afterwards there will be a presentation of the solutions and reveal of the results.

The KTH site for NCPC will be held in the computer rooms in the E Building, floor 4.

How does the contest work?

You compete in teams of up to three members. At the start of the contest you get a set of problems (2019 had 12 problems). Over five hours you try to solve as many of the problems as possible. Each problem is solved by writing a program adhering to a given specification. The program is sent to a judging system which runs it against a series of test cases in order to verify that it produces correct results and is sufficiently efficient. The team solving the maximum number of problems wins and, if several teams solve the same number of problems, the team using the least total time wins.

New for 2022 To compete at NCPC, your team will have to compete onsite at the same site. You can bring your own computer, but only 1 computer is allowed per team. If you do not have a KTH login, then you will have to bring your own computer. You are allowed to use the internet this year. If you do not have access to the WIFI (eduroam), then you will be given a temporary guest account for the WIFI. For more information, see the NCPC web page.

Registration

Registration is open. The registration deadline is October the 5th.

There will be a NCPC warm up on Thursday October 6th, 17:15-19:30 CET in Computer Room Orange.

Who can compete at KTH?

The contest is open for everyone! You don't have to be a student or represent a university.
