PhD level education

The Department of Computational Biology supervises PhD theses in three academic subjects:

  • Computer Science (at KTH)
  • Biological Physics (at KTH)
  • Neuroscience (at Karolinska Institute)
PhD student positions are typically associated to and funded by the research groups (see Groups).

Erasmus Mundus PhD programme in Neuroinformatics

The Department coordinates an Erasmus Mundus PhD Programme in Neuroinformatics in collaboration with National Centre for Biological sciences - Bangalore, India, University of Edinburgh - UK and Albert Ludwig University - Freiburg, Germany. Very generous financial support is available to outstanding students, from anywhere around the world.

MSc level education

Master's Program in Computational and Systems Biology

The Department gives the major part of the courses in the two-year Master's Program in Computational and Systems Biology (according to the Bologna model). This Master's programme is also offered as a specialization for several MScE degrees at KTH. For application deadlines as specialization at KTH, contact your study advisor.

Master's Course on Systems Biology

The Department gives the major part of the courses offered by KTH in the 2-year Erasmus Mundus Master's Course on Systems Biology (euSYSBIO). Very generous financial support is available to outstanding students, from anywhere in the world.

KTH students interested in following the euSYSBIO course as a specialization in a MScE degree from KTH should contact their study advisor, their program director and / or Prof Erik Aurell directly.
