Germund Dahlquist 1925-2005

Past

Germund Dahlquist, 1925-01-16  -- 2005-02-08, was a  portal figure of Numerical Analysis and the founder of the department that grew to this school.

Future

Several efforts are made to keep the spirit of Germund Dahlquist alive. The Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics, SIAM, gives a Dahlquist Prize every other year since 1995. Comsol, a company started by former students of Germund Dahlquist, sponsors a Dahlquist postdoctoral fellowship at KTH.
