PhD Salaries / DoktorandstegenThe information below covers the 2011 PhD student salary agreement (doktorandtjänst). Normally, there is a new agreement each year, but it can take some time before information spreads about the new agreement. Thus, during the spring term there is a certain risk that this webpage is not perfectly up-to-date. The information below is guaranteed to be correct as of February 20th, 2012.An important piece of news concerning the PhD salary agreements since 2006 is that there are now clear rules for how the salary is increased during the studies. The progress levels are tightly bound to the completed studying time, i.e. after completing 50% of your planned studying time you should have the salary of step 3 (unless there is written documentation that you have underperformed). This also means that it is very important to have an updated individual study plan! (And if you do not know what that is, you should find out fast—by contacting us, for instance.) If there is a disagreement about whether your salary should be increased or not, this will be decided by comparing what you have achieved with what is says in your individual study plan.
