School Organisation from a Postgraduate PerspectiveThe head of the School of Computer Science and Communication is the Dean (dekanen). Apart from the Dean, the school management consists of the Vice Dean (prodekanen), the Strategic council (strategiskt råd) and the Executive Group (ledningsgruppen).
Strategic council / Strategiskt rådThe Strategic council consists of six employee representatives, including the dean and an representive for technical and administrative personel, two undergraduate student representatives and one graduate student representative and three external representatives (not employed at the school). (See .)The strategic council should advice the dean in cases he is in charge of and in the following cases.
Executive Group / LedningsgruppenThe Executive Group is a consultative body under the Dean, which handles more of day-to-day management questions for the school. The postgraduate students have one member in the Executive Group.
Undergraduate Education Group / GrundutbildningsgruppenThe student representatives in the Undergraduate Education Group are undergraduate students.
Program councils / ProgramrådThere are four supported phd programs at the school:
Working Environment Group / ArbetsmiljögruppenThe postgraduate students have one representative in the Working Environment Group, which is a consultative group for matters pertaining to the working environment.
Equal Treatment Group / LikabehandlingsgruppenThe postgraduate students have one representative in the Equal Treatment Group, which is a consultative group for equality and equal treatment questions.
Employment Committee / TjänsteförslagsnämndenThe Employment Committee deal with employment of staff. Our committee is shared with the School of Electrical Engineering (Skolan för elektro- och systemteknik) and the School of Information and Communication Technology (Skolan för informations- och kommunikationsteknik).
Doktorandrådet / Postgraduate Students' CouncilIt is up to the postgraduate students to decide whether there should be a Postgraduate Students' Council, and if so how it should be organised. The current organisation of the Postgraduate Students' Council was adopted on October 24th, 2005. The Postgraduate Students' Council consists of all postgraduate students, including "shadow PhD students". The PhD representatives are elected by all postgraduate students at KTH CSC, and represent the interests of all postgraduate students.
