Graduate studies at CSC
CSC is responsible for graduate education in the subject areas of
Numerical Analysis and Computer Science at both KTH and Stockholm University,
and the subject areas of Human-Computer Interaction, Media Technology and Graphic Arts,
and Speech and Music Communication at KTH. Each of these graduate study areas
is described in a general program curriculum which defines prerequisites
for admission and includes a description of the contents and structure
of each study program.
Each graduate student is affiliated to one of CSC’s research groups to which
his/her main supervisor is also affiliated.
Professor Jens Lagergren is head of
graduate studies at CSC. His main tasks are to ensure the quality of graduate
education at CSC, to be the liaison between CSC and the KTH central administration concerning graduate education,
and to ensure that current rules and routines are followed.
There are two directors of studies for the graduate programs at CSC.
Michael Hanke is
director of studies for graduate studies in Numerical Analysis and Computer Science.
David House is director of studies
for graduate studies in Human-Computer Interaction, Media Technology and Graphic Arts,
and Speech and Music Communication.
Most administrative matters in connection with graduate education
are taken care of by Birgit Ekberg-Eriksson.
Graduate students are represented on the board of CSC by one regular
board member and one substitute member. They are elected for a one-year
term of office.
We also have a group that discusses
graduate education on CSC.
