Artificial Neural Networks and Other Learning Systems

Welcome to this course about artificial neural networks comprising 6 ECTS. The tuition includes lectures and four computer exercises. Exercises are done in groups of two or three persons. Examination is both on exercises (3 credits) and with an exam (3 credits).

The results of the re-exam are ready. Exams can be collected at the student administration at Osquars backe 2. The grades are set on the following total points (exam + bonus): F: 0-12.5, E: 13-16, D: 16.5-19.5, C: 20-23, B: 23.5-26.5, A: 27-30. The exam and suggestions of answers are found in the folder Old Exams below
Re-exam. The re-exam will be June 11 at 09.00-14.00 in room Rb35, Roslagstullsbacken 35 in the AlbaNova campus area. Please email me at erikf(at)csc.kth.se if you want to take part in the exam.

Hints for the exam. In old exams, ignore questions about ART networks, graphical models, bayesian / probabilistic formulations of a neuron, they are no longer part of the course. Further, Reinforcement learning is reduced and only an overview knowledge is needed. But note that we instead have included Regularization as well as Reservoir computing. About derivations, we only expect you to be able to derive formluas related to Backprop.
Sign up for the exam is not needed, we welcome all course participants.

Lab 2. In the instructions, the program xoplot is mentioned. Just ignore this and do the lab as otherwise instructed. That program is no longer needed.
Reading directions for the books are found under "Reading material".
To get help during lab sessions, use the on-line system and book a time slot that you mark "help".
Demo programs for lectures are available at /info/ann12/demos for those who wish to try them out.
