Research methods in HCI

Course information for 2011 version of the course: formdi11.

This course is meant to be the first research course a PhD student follows. Within this course you will get an orientation of different sub-areas of HCI, get hands on experience with some data collection methods, get an insight in the variety of methods within HCI from qualitative to quantitative methods. During this course you will focus on your own research and research question.

Since january 2011 this course is included in our new doctoral program, Mediated communication, that consists of the research areas Human-Computer Interaction, Media technology, and, Music. This set up of the course will include seminars on both HCI and Media technology and in later versions also Music.

Responsible for this course are Ann Lantz (alz@kth.se) and Jan Gulliksen (gulliksen@kth.se). The course starts April 29 and ends in September.
