Benjamin Auffarth

Benjamin Auffarth, PhD (Inf.), MSc (AI), BSc (CogSci)

Benjamin Auffarth graduated with PhD degree from KTH Royal Technical University in Stockholm, Sweden on machine learning methods and the early vertebrate olfactory system. He holds a BSc degree in Cognitive Science from the University of Osnabrueck, which he supplemented with studies at the New Bulgarian University (NBU), the Middle East Technical University (METU), and the Chuo University in Tokyo. His thesis project was a comparison of eye movements of humans and monkeys. He finished a MSc degree in the group for Volume Visualization and Artificial Intelligence (WAI) at the Universitat de Barcelona (UB) where he was investigating feature selection for pattern classification in CT images and working on an assignment management system (baptized: SAC) for university programming classes. Since 2008 he has been working on models of biological olfaction and on analyses of data from the rat olfactory bulb.

Thesis: Machine Learning Techniques with Specific Application to the Early Olfactory System.
