The department of Computational biology conducts research within computational neuroscience. The department consists of 7 professors, 1 associate professor, 5 post doc and about 25 PhD students.

The goal of the project, within which the position is, concerns elucidating questions of nerve cell function, specifically mechanisms in pain. The work is done using mathematical modelling and biophysical simulation of biochemical and biophysical processes in the nerve cell. The work is done in collaboration with medical doctors and biologists studying pain and epilepsy as well as with companies developing medicines for those diseases.

Applicants must have an MSc or equivalent, preferably with a major in Computational Biology, Engineering Physics, Technical Biology or similar.

The starting date is open for discussion, though ideally we would like the successful candidate to start as soon as possible.

We look forward to your application.
