Interests and Hobbies
Sports
Having been a swimmer when I was younger, I still enjoy sports. Nowadays I still enjoy swimming, but also have a newfound interest in cross-country skiing and road biking. I also enjoy the weekly floor ball training with my fellow researchers at CVAP.
In 2010 I and two other researchers at the lab, Oscar Danielsson and Andrzej Pronobis, took part in a "Swedish Classic", consisting of four races that have to be completed within one year:
- Vasaloppet - a 90 km cross-country ski race between Sälen and Mora. This is the largest ski race in the world!
- Vätternrundan - a 300 km bicycle ride around Vättern, Sweden's second largest lake. This is the also world's largest of its kind!
- Vansbrosimningen - a 3 km swim race in a river in Vansbro.
- Lidingöloppet - 30 km running in very hilly terrain on the island of Lidingö close to Stockholm.
My race times:
- Vasaloppet - 7:31:34
- Vätternrundan - 9:45:54
- Vansbrosimningen - 0:41:02
- Lidingöloppet - 2:50:02
Music
I enjoy playing the piano, and occasionally the cello. After high school I attended a music school for two years. Rather than playing solo, I prefer playing piano in smaller ensembles like piano-cello, piano-violin, piano-flute and piano trio. Among the pieces I love to play are Rachmaninoff's cello sonata, Franck's violin sonata, Prokofiev's violin sonata in D major.
