About Me

Hello, below are my research interests:

High Performance Computing on the Cloud

Making supercomputing easier to access and use for the researchers is one of the aims for the MSO4SC project with funding from Horizon 2020 European Union funding for Research and Innovation. By using the Singularity container technology together with TOSCA descriptions it is easy to create applications that the users can reach from their web browser but do their computations on remote HPC resources. It is also possible to implement CI/CD workflows where not only accuracy but also parallel scalability of the software can be tested with each commit and deployed using Singularity Hub.

Modelling and Simulation of Human Vocal Folds

Below are visualizations for the simulations of the human voice in the context of the Eunison project with funding from the European Unions Seventh Framework Programme for research, technological development and demonstration. Fluid Structure interaction with contact modeling and acoustic coupling in a high performance computing setting is implemented and successful validations has been obtained for capturing the first 3 formants of vowel /i/ for the coupled simulations on an academic benchmark as well as capturing the glottal wave for a realistic geometry extracted from the Software ArtiSynth

. The simulations used 384 cores for nearly 10 days on the Beskow Supercomputer at KTH.

Adaptive Finite Element Methods

Increasing the dimension of the chosen subspaces is essential in finding closer Galerkin approximations to the solution. I am investigating h-refinement strategies for the numerical solution of the PDEs, with focus on a posteriori error estimates. The a posteriori error estimate used for the project is based on introducing a linearized dual problem, and expressing the error in a given output as a combination of a residual of the computed solution and derivatives of the dual solution, acting as weights, giving information about the effect of the residual on the output error.

I am an old man, and when I die and go to heaven, there are two matters on which I hope for enlightenment. One is quantum electrodynamics and the other is the turbulent motion of fluids. About the former, I am really rather optimistic." Sir Horace Lamb, 1931
