Today e-sport is bigger than ever, to compete in e-sports, as a professional gamer is a tough and competitive lifestyle. To make a living playing games is what many young people consider being the dream, but few are aware of the economical situation in e-sports. In this essay, we will discuss the economy around professional e-sports players and try to map the economic flow. To find out how the economical situation in e-sport the core of our study have been in carrying out interviews, which resulted in four interviews. The first person works as a marketing manager for SteelSeries. The other person is the manager of the Counter-Strike team SK. The third is the e-sports player Chisthoper "GeT_RiGhT" Alesund. And last but not least the former professional e-sports player Magnus "Fox" Olsson. We will also discuss how sponsors make money out of using professional e-sport athletes as a marketing technuique and thereby increasing their profit. After our study we come to understand that the economic situation for a professional e-sport player is tough. There are two kinds of people who on a more professional level compete in e-sports. First we have the Competitive Gamer who competes in professional tournements. Then there is the Professional Gamers who live on competeting in professional e-sport tournements. There is a minority of people competing in e-sports who actually can be seen as a Professional Gamer. The economic situation for the majority of players in e-sports is still unstable and people competing in it still lives in uncertainty on when their carrer will come to an end.
