iPad as a work tool

Abstract

iPad was launched during 2010 and sold over 14,8 million copies, which was 84,1% of the global market for tablets this year. The fact that iPad spread very rapidly raised a lot of questions about its format and its potential areas of application.

In this thesis we are researching how iPad can be used as a work tool. What demands are asked of the iPad as a work tool and what attitudes exist regarding iPad at work? By interviewing employees within a line of work that has implemented iPad, we have looked closer at what role iPad is playing.

The results of our survey show that there are both positive and negative opinions regarding iPad as a work tool. If you use iPad in the right purpose, at the right time, it’s been proven that it can add something positive at work, for example to be able to provide the customer with better support at different client meetings.
