User based cash register layout for the barista
– Evaluation of Espresso House’s Points of Sale

Abstract

Sweden is the second most coffee drinking country in the world. In the past the Swede’s mostly drank boiled or filtered coffee but nowadays Caffè Latte, preferably for take away, dominates the market. People want their coffee on-the-go fast and that puts a demand for quick transactions at the point of sale.

This study will show how the users can participate in improving the layout of a coffee chain’s cash registers.

The purpose with the study is to evaluate and suggest improvements of the layout based on user input.
