Tableau
TV on the Internet
Abstract
Consumers
of telecast have the opportunity to choose between traditional telecast in tableau
TV format or through web TV channels where they can decide for themselves when
to view a specific show. Despite this, the majority still choose to view the
traditional telecast.
This bachelor
thesis scrutinize if tableau TV on the Internet could be an option to attract
more consumers towards the web TV channels and viewing television over the
Internet. In this thesis connections are drawn to media convergence, user
habits, possibilities and opportunities in the industry, technology, economy
and opinions from both the consumers and the television companies.
The results
in this thesis indicates that tableau TV on the Internet can be a good
complement to the on demand services of the web TV channels in the future to
attract more consumers. Combined with theories about media convergence these
results indicate that the best result could be accomplished when applying just
some of the aspects from tableau TV and adjust these characteristics to the Internet.
