About the contest

KTH NWERC, the Northwestern European Programming Contest, is part of the ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest, sponsored by IBM. ACM ICPC is a highly competitive student programming contest with thousands of participating teams. Read more about it on the ICPC web.

NWERC is a regional contest for teams to qualify for the ICPC World Finals. NWERC draws students from colleges and universities throughout Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Great Britain, Germany (Hessen, Niedersachsen, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Rheinland-Pfalz, Saarland, Schleswig-Holstein), Ireland, Iceland, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, Norway, Sweden. Winners selected from regional contests on six continents will advance to the ACM Programming Contest World Finals to compete for bragging rights and scholarships.

In November 2006 NWERC is hosted by KTH - The Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm.
