Courses taught in English by the CSC school in 2011/2012

Most first cycle courses (for Bachelor's degree) are taught in Swedish. KTH has few students on this level that do not understand Swedish.

But many second cycle courses (for Master's degree) are taught in English since there are many students on international Master's programs and exchange students studying at this level.

The School of Computer Science and Communication welcomes exchange students from KTH partner universities and students enrolled at KTH international master programs to our courses regardless of which program the students are enrolled at.

Students must, however, have the prerequisites required and apply to be admitted with the student councellor of their program.

The study year is divided into four periods where P1 and P2 are in the fall and P3 and P4 in the spring.

A course web page is maintained by the teacher in charge. Thus the style varies a lot. But most course web pages have a sub page for each course instance. Each course instance has a unique name consisting of an abbreviation of the course name in Swedish followed by two digits telling the start year of the course instance. The first page normally either covers the current course instance or has a link to it, e.g. Aktuell kursomgang: algokomp09

Course cancellation: Some courses may be cancelled if the number of applications is below a certain limit. Check the text in the KTH Course and program directory and click "Show information about when the course is offered".

Bold typeface indicates that the course is compulsory.

Know some Swedish? Courses on the advanced level given in Swedish are often possible to take for students who have some knowledge of Swedish. Usually the lectures are in Swedish but the course book in English. Students can write exams and reports in English. But the instructions for lab work are usually in Swedish.
